Study Outside of Class

Algebra 2 covers a lot of mathematical concepts, and you'll have a better chance of passing the class if you don't try to learn them all at once. Spread out your study time so you're working on a few problems every day. Many of these problems will come from your homework, but don't be shy about breaking out your textbook to work on extra problems, especially if you're struggling with a specific concept.

Take care to keep up with any assigned readings in your textbook. Often your book will include diagrams and explanations that your instructor might not cover in class, so make sure you take some time to review this information. Print any study guides or class notes your instructor provides and look over them as well.

Finally, make sure you check out the quizzes and tests your teacher hands back. Go over any problems you got wrong and try to understand what happened and what the correct answers are. That way you'll be ready if the problems show up again on your final.

Use Class Time Wisely

Attending your Algebra 2 classes regularly is a good first step. But, if you want to get the most out of class, you need to pay attention and take good notes. Write down the formulas your instructor goes over, as well as any information that he or she writes on the board.

Class time is also a good time to ask your instructor questions. Make sure you address your difficulties as quickly as possible. Getting used to solving problems the wrong way makes it harder to do them correctly later on.

Check Out Study Options

Consider forming a study group. Working with your fellow students to solve problems and going over algebraic concepts is a great way to succeed in an Algebra 2 class. You can also find out if your school offers a math study lab or tutors. Taking advantage of these resources can make passing Algebra 2 a lot easier.

You can also find study help online. Study.com offers an Algebra 2 study guide that can help you review what you're learning in class through short video lessons. This course is full of interactive quizzes and tests that can give you more practice with algebraic problems with topics like matrices, combinatorics, polynomials, absolute value, and so much more.
