Praxis Spanish Test Dates

Instructor: Bill Sands
The Praxis Spanish test is held during a number of testing windows throughout the year. Read on to learn about the exact dates for this test, as well as other important information on registration and what to bring on test day.

Praxis Spanish Test Dates

Like most tests in the Praxis series, the Spanish exam is offered in several testing windows throughout the year. There are three five-day blocks scheduled for the year 2017: February 6 through 11, April 3 through 8, and July 3 through 8.

Praxis Registration

To confirm your seat for these windows, you'll need to complete the registration process. The Praxis tests are administered by Educational Testing Service, and this company provides candidates with three options for registration.

The first choice involves online registration. Candidates may select their test and enter payment information on the ETS website, and then receive an admission ticket which test-takers must bring to the testing center.

Candidates can also sign up over the phone. Candidates can call ETS Monday through Friday during business hours (8 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. EST) and register for the exam. To use this service, you have to have a Praxis account set up online, and you have to take the test in the United States. If you would like to use this registration option, be aware that you'll have to pay a $35 service fee.

The third and final option involves registration by mail. Candidates will need to fill out and print a Test Authorization Voucher Request Form and mail it to ETS. Once ETS receives and confirms this request, candidates will receive a voucher for test registration. If you choose this option, be aware that it might take about three weeks to receive your voucher.

What to Do and Bring on Test Day

Once you know when you test day is, you should also familiarize yourself with what you should (and should not) do on test day.

Most importantly, you'll need to bring a valid form of identification and a copy of your admission ticket. You may not enter the testing site without an admission ticket, and you may not sit for the test if you cannot prove your identity.

Candidates are not allowed to bring personal items with them into the testing center. This includes cell phones, watches, purses, and backpacks. It's best to leave these items at home or in your car, but if you insist on bringing them with you, your testing site will have a storage area where you may stow your items during the test.

You should also make sure you know where your testing center is and how to find it. Getting lost on your way to the test will only add to your stress and may make you late, which would prohibit you from sitting for the exam. Aim to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the test so that you won't need to worry about arriving on time.
