Objectives of the MTTC History: Ethnicity and Geography Chapter

The MTTC History exam assesses your comprehension of history and readiness to teach this topic in the classroom. The exam is part of the teacher licensing requirements in Michigan and covers a variety of topics through four subareas, including the interdisciplinary perspectives subarea that houses the questions on ethnicity and geography. All of the 100 questions on the exam are multiple choice, and about 24% of the total questions on the exam are found in the interdisciplinary perspectives subarea.

You may be required to read a passage or look at a map or image and then choose the best response to a question about the passage or image. In order to be comfortable with the format of these questions before you take the exam, consider taking our self-assessment quizzes that accompany each lesson.
