Most brew houses consist of a restaurant and on-site brewery, so brew house supervisors oversee the workers who serve and cook the food, as well as those who brew and serve the alcohol. Supervisors talk with customers to ensure they are enjoying their meals. Depending on the size of the facility, supervisors may be involved with marketing and promotions. For established franchise-chain locations, supervisors must maintain the company image through controlling the restaurant's atmosphere and enforcing company policies.

Supervisors are responsible for finding, hiring, and training new workers. Some supervisors delegate training responsibilities to a team leader where there is more than one supervisor managing a different team, such as brewery workers, kitchen staff, and serving crew. In this case, supervisors would need to agree on team collaboration.

Like most management positions, a supervisor's duties include completing and submitting paperwork. Supervisors run inventory reports and account for items used. They are responsible for purchasing food items, brewery ingredients, and other necessary merchandise. Supervisors schedule shifts for employees and weekly meetings for team leaders. Supervisors make sure all the cash has been counted, logged, and deposited.
