Landscape design can involve short projects for single homes, multimillion-dollar projects for a multi-acre commercial locations and everything in between. The work of landscape design salespeople can be just as varied in terms of both career options and job requirements.

Businesses in need of a landscape design company may include greenhouses and nurseries that offer landscape design services, small design or architectural firms, or large national landscaping companies.

Landscape design salespeople work with customers, whether homeowners or commercial developers, to interpret their landscaping needs. Then they develop proposals for design services in conjunction with their companies' design staffs. Once a project is sold, the salesperson often follows up with the customer to ensure the landscaping is done as planned. In some cases, especially with small businesses, the salesperson may also be the landscape designer.
