Digital media programs develop both technical and creative skills while teaching students to utilize elements such as digital audio and video, animation and web design. U.S. News & World Report ranked Marist College tied for 11th on its list of regional universities (North) for 2015.This small college in eastern New York offers a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media program that merges instruction in art history, studio work and liberal arts. Class study includes digital animation and photography, digital painting and multimedia authoring. Digital media students at the school may opt to undertake a professional internship.
2. University of Washington - Seattle Campus

The University of Washington (UW) was ranked tied for 48th among national universities for 2015 in U.S. News & World Report's estimation. The school's Center for Digital Arts and Experimental Media (DXARTS) offers a Digital Arts minor. The program, which is heavily weighted toward research, is suited to those planning to pursue graduate study. Coursework includes mechatronics and fabrication, digital video and digital sound synthesis. UW also offers a Doctor of Philosophy in Digital Arts and Experimental Media in which students are allowed to design their own concentration. Basic classes in the program cover topics such as sound in space, experimental video and researching techniques in digital media.
