The Milwaukee Area Technical College has numerous cosmetology and barber programs for students interested in becoming hair stylists. The technical diploma for cosmetology at the school of business here can be completed in a year to 18 months. An externship is necessary to graduate from the program. In this program, an emphasis is put on adding an artistic flair to hairstyles.
