Bachelor's degree programs in business are commonly offered in an online format, and most schools allow students to complete all coursework without visiting campus. Some of these programs are degree-completion programs that require applicants to have completed general education, usually equivalent to an associate's degree.

Students in a bachelor's degree program in business can often choose among several specialization options, like marketing, accounting, human resource management, international business, information technology and more. Schools may offer internship opportunities to better prepare students for the workforce.

Bachelor's Degree in Business

The most common online programs introduce students to key functional areas of business, such as operations, human resources and management. In addition to providing students with a solid understanding of business theories and practices relevant to today's global market, some business programs offer concentrations, such as accounting, finance or marketing. Upon completion of an online business program, students are often awarded a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). Graduates are prepared for entry-level careers in a variety of fields, including administration, financial services, purchasing or banking.

Program Requirements

Although most bachelor-level online business programs can be completed remotely, some require students to complete an associate's degree or a number of general education courses on campus prior to enrolling. Earning an online bachelor's degree in business requires approximately 120 credit-hours and typically takes four years. Classes are conducted through a variety of delivery methods, including discussion boards, live lecture podcasts and the submission of assignments via upload or e-mail.
