Students typically earn certificates and/or degrees in administrative information or office management. Students enrolled in programs at Hudson Valley Community College, Ivy Tech Community College, and Clark College will have the chance to learn basic office training as well as prepare for Microsoft certification exams.

Hudson Valley Community College

To begin, Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY, offers an associate degree in administrative management and technology, and the program prepares students for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) credentialing exam. Coursework can include training in document formatting, office management, Microsoft Excel, web design, and electronic publishing. The program also includes an internship in the public or private sector.

Ivy Tech Community College

Ivy Tech Community College is a system of schools in Indiana with 30 locations, and the office administration program is offered at 23 campuses. At the Central Indiana campus in Indianapolis, students can earn an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) and an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Office Administration. The associate program is designed for students interested in transferring to 4-year schools.

The A.A.S. program, available either on campus or online, prepares individuals for direct entry into the workforce.
