Through the College of Arts and Sciences, students can enroll in the Barbara and Evan Chesler Pre-law Program. The program places students with a pre-law advisor, which allows them to tailor their education towards their graduate interests. Available at the School of Law, graduate degree programs include studies in business, constitutional and tax law. Students can also pursue a 'layering program', which trains them to become top-notch lawyers ready for professional practice and courtroom litigation.

The university's pre-professional studies program offers a pre-law curriculum that includes topics in legal studies, history, political science and public speaking. At the Hofstra Law School, qualified graduates can also pursue LL.M. and J.D. programs. Once admitted, aspiring lawyers study basic and advanced law, including the effect of technology on the legal system.
