Mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists must have a master's degree and a license. They work directly with individuals, couples or families that are coping with issues. This is a career that involves helping people, which is ideal for those who like people, and it is a good fit for introverts because they work with people in small groups.

Health Educators

Health educators create programs designed to help people understand health issues and learn how to prevent or manage health problems. While this career may involve teaching groups, health educators also spend a lot of time working on developing healthcare programs, helping individuals who are dealing with a health issue, and training other healthcare professionals. There are a lot of opportunities for independent and small group work that will appeal to introverts, and introverts will also find that the time spent processing information and ideas to develop programs suits them. Those who like and care about people should find this is a career where they can make a significant impact on the quality of people's lives. Health educators must have a bachelor's degree.

Delivery Truck Drivers

Delivery truck drivers learn through on-the-job training; they need a high school diploma, clean driving history and valid driver's license to enter this field. They spend their day transporting goods from location to location. This career option involves a lot of solitary work, which will appeal to introverts; however, delivery truck drivers also talk to customers and communicate with supervisors about issues. Introverts that like people may enjoy opportunities to meet customers throughout the day and to ensure that their delivery needs are met.

Surgical Technologists

Surgical technologists spend a fair amount of time working independently when they prepare surgical equipment and stock supplies for surgeries. These tasks will appeal to introverts. Introverts interested in a medical career may find this allows them individual and small group interactions throughout their day. Surgical technologists need an associate's degree or certificate in surgical technology to prepare them for this career.

Postsecondary Education Administrators

Postsecondary education administrators need a master's degree. They work at colleges and universities and perform tasks such as processing student applications, creating class schedules and helping students apply for financial aid. A lot of the tasks they perform, such as developing schedules and assigning class spaces, involve careful thought before finalizing a plan, which is ideally suited to an introvert's preference to think things through. They also spend a lot of time working independently or alone, but introverts who like people will find that there are regular opportunities to interact with potential or current students and faculty. They can significantly impact the lives of students by helping them with financial matters or developing or locating services they need to succeed in school.

Forensic Science Technician

Forensic science technicians may work individually or in a small group. They collect evidence from crime scenes and process evidence in labs. The individual or small group work will appeal to introverts, and they will also appreciate that this work involves a lot of analysis. This is also a career that involves helping people, and introverts who like people may find it rewarding to be able to use their talents to help people get justice or to increase public safety by ensuring that criminals are identified and convicted. A bachelor's degree is required to work in this field.

Occupational Therapists

Occupational therapists prepare for their careers by earning a master's degree and obtaining a license. This is a good healthcare option for introverts because occupational therapists see patients individually and spend time assessing their condition before developing a plan. Introverts will appreciate working with people one-on-one, and will find that the need to carefully assess a patient and think through their symptoms before determining a course of treatment fits with an introvert's preference for considering data before acting.
