Albany State University

At this university in Georgia, students can obtain their Master of Social Work through night classes that start at 5:15 PM each evening. This program, specially designed for non-traditional students, takes 64 credit hours to finish and includes courses such as Achieving Justice in a Diverse World and Social Welfare Policies and Programs. To enter this program, students must provide official undergraduate transcripts proving at least a 3.0 GPA as well as attend an interview and submit a resume, a personal narrative statement, and three letters of recommendation.

Kennesaw State University

In Kennesaw, Georgia, students can attend a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree that prepares them for the Georgia state licensing exam. This 60-credit hour degree offers two specializations, either in Behavioral Health Services or Children and Family Services. In both years of the program, students must spend time in a field practicum, two days a week in the first year and three days a week in the second year. Students in this program can pursue their Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the same time as the MSW, though it will take longer to finish since they need to fulfill a total of 84 credit hours to earn a dual degree.

Clark Atlanta University

The Master of Social Work program at this university offers three different scheduling options, including a two-year study plan, a three-year study plan, or an advanced standing study plan. All students must have a bachelor's degree, but to obtain advanced standing, students must possess a bachelor's in social work and have a 3.2 GPA. All entrants are required to submit a detailed personal statement and GRE scores, among other pertinent requirements. The master's program in this university aims for well-rounded social work graduates who are trained in various theoretical frameworks as well as the latest research.

University of Georgia

Students pursuing a Master of Social Work (MSW) from this university have the opportunity to enroll in dual master's programs in public health, law, or divinity. To get into this MSW program, students must submit a narrative statement, resume, and three letters of recommendation. Starting in the fall of 2017, students have access to three concentrations in Micro Practice, Macro Practice, or Integrated/Combined Practice. The program has many different scheduling options, such as a two-year full-time option or a three-year extended option, while those taking dual degrees generally finish within four years.

Valdosta State University

This Master of Social Work program is offered on campus, online, or in a hybrid format and requires 60 credit hours. Students can take the courses over two years, three years, or four years. There is an advanced standing option requiring a Bachelor of Social Work obtained at some point in the five years before enrolling at Valdosta State University. For the on-campus option, students attend night classes that begin at 5:00 PM; those in the hybrid program attend class for five weekends each semester and complete the rest of the coursework online.
