University of Delaware in Newark
The University of Delaware (UD) is one of a handful of 4-year public universities in the state. In 2010, U.S. News and World Report ranked UD 68th among the best colleges in the nation, making it the highest ranked school in Delaware. UD is nationally recognized as a research institution with a tradition of excellence. The university consists of seven colleges that offer 134 undergraduate and 118 graduate programs.
Wilmington University in New Castle
Wilmington University is an unranked, 4-year, private university with a total student enrollment of 9,133 undergraduate and graduate students. Although Wilmington didn't receive a U.S. News & World Report ranking in 2010, it offers flexible evening and weekend classes, as well as a long list of online learning options. Wilmington is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
