Many studies are available that focus on helping students develop proficiency in computer applications and programs. Career training programs are also offered in various professions, including medical coders, medical billing clerks, administrative assistants, and drafters.

Braintree Community Continuing Education's Adult Education Programs
Evening adult school courses through Braintree Public Schools take place at Braintree High School. Courses are offered in fine and practical arts, sports and exercise, academics and computers. Availability of courses such as the following vary in each term.
Adult students learn methods for taking effective color and black-and-white digital photos, and explore software equivalents of darkroom techniques. Strategies for organizing digital photos are also covered in this 8-week course taught by a digital artist.
Instruction in this 8-week course focuses on Spanish vocabulary development, conversational strategies and pronunciation. The course provides a foundation for navigating typical situations while traveling in Spanish-speaking countries.
In this 7-week course, adult students engage in writing exercises to explore the fundamentals of fiction writing. Students read and discuss published short fiction as preparation for writing and revising their own stories.
Microsoft Office I and II
In the introductory course, adult students learn the fundamentals of Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. In the second 10-week course, students engage in more advanced projects that integrate applications.
This 7-week course introduces adult students to the basics of architectural drafting with AutoCAD. After learning shape and design commands, students create office plans with electrical design, a ceiling grid and a floor plan.

Quincy College's Adult Education Programs
Community and Workforce Education programs at Quincy College, a community college about five miles from Braintree, provide non-credit adult education courses. Most courses are designed for adult students to acquire entry-level employment skills, but career advancement courses are available as well.
Healthcare Administration Certificate
The healthcare administration certificate program focuses on office administration and patient interaction. Topics covered in the evening classes include patient admissions, appointment scheduling and recording parent histories.
Medical Coding and Billing Certificate
In the medical coding and billing certificate program meeting days or evenings, adult students learn medical terminology, account management software skills and coding systems. Additional topics covered include record keeping, appointment scheduling and payment adjustments.
Quincy Community Action Programs
The Quincy Community Action Programs has been serving the people of Quincy and cities in the area since 1965. They provide course work in such areas as adult education and workforce development and early childhood education and care.
Adult Basic Education
This program helps adult prepare for the GED or the HiSet High School Equivalency Assessment as well as ESOL courses. The step by step plan readies adults desiring to work their way up in the workforce through increasing basic skills with individual and small group instruction.
Child Care Professional Training
Patrons looking to enter the childcare field as a professional can begin with this program sponsored by Community Care for Kids. The plan provides coaching, mentoring and help with college level courses.
This course introduces students to Business Office Skills Training, while Career Ready 101 puts those skills to use in reading, information search, and workplace math. Once completed students should be ready for the National Career Ready Certificate exam.
