Nursing Schools in Concord, MA

  • At University of Massachusetts - Boston, students can choose from two undergraduate nursing degree programs. The university is about 23 miles from downtown Concord.

Northeastern University

Northeastern University was founded in 1898 and consists of nine colleges and schools. Its nursing programs attempt to prepare students to work in several different settings, including hospitals and community based areas. Northeastern's program is structured so that students are ready to pursue the specialization of their choice after graduation.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The bachelor's degree in nursing is typically completed in five years. Students learn about diagnosing and treating illness in patients of all ages. Students are given the chance to work in local hospitals through a cooperative education program. There is also the opportunity for honors students to assist faculty with research.

University of Massachusetts - Boston

The University of Massachusetts - Boston began operations in 1964 and today offers nearly 200 academic programs. The school's nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The program maintains contact with over 215 different agencies in order to provide students with the most diverse internship and clinical work experience possible.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The Bachelor of Nursing program readies students to work in a hospital setting as well as in individual homes and community clinics. This program covers clinical and theoretical studies involved in the nursing profession. Students are advised to work less than 20 hours a week due to the extensive amount of study required. The program prepares students to take the national registered nurse licensing exam.

Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The accelerated nursing program is designed for students who have already completed a bachelor's degree at an accredited school. The accelerated program can be completed in 15 months, roughly a third of the time required for the normal program. The program only considers students who have completed all of the required nursing prerequisites.
