School Selection Criteria

There are a number of factors that can affect one's choice of institution, including the following list of considerations.

  • Make sure the chosen program is accredited by the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
  • Look for a school that offers internship opportunities to help with the transition into the job market after graduation.
  • Students pursuing a graduate degree will need to select an MLA program if they have experience in the field, or an MSLA program if they do not.

Those interested in landscape architecture can pursue a BLA, BSLA, MLA or MSLA degree. Degree options and internship opportunities vary per institution and may open up different career options or additional educational paths.
