The main campus of Ohio State University, located in Columbus, is one of the largest institutions of higher learning in the country. Several of this university's degree programs have distance learning options that allow students to take online courses. As of October 2014, the school offers 10 distance education programs, including two bachelor's degree and eight master's degree programs. In addition to the school's multiple programs in nursing and dental hygiene, the other available programs are in engineering leadership, agriculture, plant health management, welding engineering and clinical research. The University of Cincinnati is the second-largest public educational institution in the state of Ohio. Columbus State Community College

Located in Columbus, Columbus State Community College is the largest 2-year school in Ohio to offer online and distance learning programs. It offers an online Global Campus with courses offered through web, video and hybrid means. Students can earn degrees at the associate's and bachelor's level; there is also a single online master's degree program in applied politics offered in conjunction with the University of Dayton.

Several online business degree programs are offered, including those in finance, accounting, supply chain management, marketing and management.
