Nashua Community College

Nashua Community College offers two paralegal studies programs that lead to a certificate or an associate's degree. The programs have received accreditation from the American Association for Paralegal Education.

Paralegal Studies Certificate

This 28-credit program teaches the foundations of paralegal studies and the professional ethics required to work as an attorney's assistant. Over 16 months, courses examine legal research and writing, contracts and business organizations, and litigation and trial preparation. Areas of the law such as real estate, estate planning and probate are also covered.

Associate in Science in Paralegal Studies

This 64-credit, evening program is designed to give students a strong academic background in the arts and humanities, history, sociology and science, in addition to paralegal studies. The paralegal courses are taught in evening sessions. Students also have the opportunity to participate in an internship program.

NHTI, Concord's Community College

This online certificate program consists of 10 courses and 30 credits of coursework that can be completed in about 1 year. Program coursework focuses on paralegal fundamentals; legal analysis; real estate, tort, business and probate law; litigation; and microcomputer applications. Students that successfully complete the certificate program are eligible to take the National Certification Exam affiliated with the National Association for Legal Assistants.
