Baylor University, in Waco, Texas, has a Master of Public Health in Community Health Education that requires students to complete 42 credit hours in coursework and a practicum Courses in the program include administration and leadership in public health, biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health science, research methods and community health education. Students must also complete a thesis or an internship to earn the degree.

Lamar University

The Bachelor of Science in Health program at Lamar University, in Beaumont, is a non-certification program in community health that requires students to complete 122 credit hours in courses such as health and wellness, public and consumer health, epidemiology, program planning and community organization. The online Master of Public Health in Health Disparities degree has a thesis or non-thesis program, which requires students to complete courses in health promotion, research methods, vital statistics and epidemiology of diseases and health program administration. The non-thesis option requires 36 credit hours while the thesis option requires 30.

Texas A&M Health Science Center

Texas A&M Health Science Center, in Bryan, Texas, offers two options for students pursuing a master's degree in public health. Students may complete a Master of Public Health degree or a Master of Health Administration degree program. The master's degree programs allow students to focus their studies in specific areas of public health such as biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, health policy and health promotion. The school offers a Doctor of Public Health degree program that offers concentrations in health promotion and community health sciences or epidemiology and environmental health. Students may also pursue a Public Health Certificate at Texas A&M Health Science Center.

Texas State University - San Marcos

Students may pursue a Bachelor of Health and Wellness Promotion degree at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. The degree program requires 120 hours in general education and health and wellness courses. Major courses in the program include environmental health issues, prevention of disease, global health and consumer health.

The University of Texas at Austin

The University of Texas at Austin, in Austin, Texas, has a Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree program that prepares students to pursue a graduate degree in the field or an entry-level position after graduation. The 126-hour program includes courses in public health, microbiology, biostatistics, environmental health science, global health and health policy management. The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston

The School of Public Health at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, in Houston, Texas, offers two professional graduate degrees in public health. The Master of Public Health degree allows students to select a major such as biostatistics; epidemiology; environmental and occupational health sciences; health promotion and behavioral sciences and management, policy and community health. Students pursuing a Doctor of Public Health degree program may select a major in epidemiology; environmental and occupational health sciences; health promotion and behavioral sciences and management, policy and community health.

The University of Texas Medical Branch

The University of Texas Medical Branch, in Galveston, Texas, offers a Master of Public Health degree that requires students to complete 42 credit hours. Courses in the program include health policy and management; biostatistics; environmental health and toxicology; health promotion; prevention and public health and ethics. Students in a medical degree or doctorate program may complete a dual plan that combines the Master of Public Health with an MD or Ph.D.

University of North Texas
