Quality Assurance Schools and Colleges in the U.S.
Quality assurance, sometimes called quality control, is the process that ensures products and services meet government requirements or internal standards. Interdisciplinary quality assurance training programs are available through 2-year and 4-year schools.
How to Select a Quality Assurance School
Quality assurance is an interdisciplinary profession incorporating science, engineering and business. Nearly everything manufactured or produced in the U.S. is subject to quality assurance standards of some type, and a student's desired career path should be considered, along with the selection of industry-specific courses, when choosing a quality assurance school. Colleges teach quality assurance as it applies in industries such as automotive manufacturing, computer software, food and textiles.
Professionals may earn a certificate or associate's degree in quality assurance after working in a manufacturing environment. Programs teach quality assurance approaches like lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and ISO standards.
Schools offering a master's degree program in quality assurance prepare a graduate to work in quality assurance management or administration. A quality assurance technician may consider a school that offers a regulatory science major or concentration to prepare for employment as a quality assurance director, who is often responsible for compliance with the agency standards, rules and regulations that ensure products released to the public are safe.
