Miami Dade College

Miami Dade College, the largest real estate appraiser education site in the state, offers a stand-alone course on real estate appraisal. The 100-hour registered trainee appraiser course is taught in the evening. Some of the topics covered in this class include the roles of appraisal trainees and supervisors, the procedures of appraisals and residential appraisal reports. The course also covers different techniques for appraising real estate.

University of Florida

The University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, offers real estate appraisal education classes through its undergraduate and graduate real estate minor programs and graduate degree program in real estate. Students taking the minor may complete courses in the legal environment of business, principles of macro- or microeconomics, real estate investment decision-making and real estate analysis.

Students can also return to the school and earn their Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE).The 10-month program includes mentoring by members of the university's Real Estate Advisory Board, as well as peer training from alumni of the program. The MSRE program includes an education in the software and database systems needed for real estate. The courses in finance, insurance, and real estate cover topics that include property valuation methods, property analysis, risk, and real estate development. All students are required to analyze real commercial real estate case studies. To continue their graduate work, students may pursue the Ph.D. in Business Administration - Finance and Real Estate. This program focuses on the economics of real estate and prepares students to work at top universities across the country, or possibly in a non-academic research position.

University of Central Florida

The Dr. P. Phillips School of Real Estate offers a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Real Estate to those interested in estate investments, banking, finance, development, brokerage, appraisal, property management and other such related fields. In order to be allowed to sit for the licensing exam, the student must take 15 hours of classes, including fundamentals of real estate, professional selling and real estate appraisal and valuation. They must also complete an internship.
