Brigham Young University is located in Provo, Utah approximately 40 miles south of Salt Lake City. The most popular undergraduate majors are business, education, social sciences and engineering. Brigham Young University offers bachelors, masters and doctoral level degree programs.

Brigham Young University is the primary postsecondary institution owned and operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, commonly referred to as the Mormon Church. The university earned the #79 spot on the America's Best Colleges list from U.S. News & World Report. A private institution, Brigham Young is known for excellent programs in business and engineering, both of which are rated among the top 100 of the nation.

Located in Provo, Brigham Young University is named after the religious leader of the Mormon Church and considers faith an integral part of the university experience. Students are held to an 'Honor Code' and are expected to uphold tenets of the church, including prohibition of alcohol consumption.

The university also features impressive libraries and nearly 400 student organizations. Service to the faith is strongly emphasized, and nearly all males and one-third of females interrupt their studies at some point to perform mission work in countries around the world.

Incoming students have a grade point average of 3.8 and typically score in the 1120 to 1350 range on the SAT and the 25 to 30 range on the ACT.
