Florida State University offers certificates in addition to associates, bachelors, masters and doctoral level degree programs.

Florida State University is the second largest university in the state. As a graduate research university with an international reputation in the sciences and humanities, FSU earned the 112th spot on the Best Colleges list. Top 50 rankings were also awarded to Florida State for its programs in business, real estate, and insurance and risk management.

In addition to offering two professional degrees in law and medicine, FSU awards certificates, associate's, bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees in more than 300 programs. The five most popular majors are criminal justice, English, finance, political science, and psychology.

FSU faculty includes Nobel Laureates and Pulitzer Prize winners. The academic programs in business, film, communication, visual arts, theatre and dance are in such demand that entry is extremely competitive and considered 'limited access.'

In addition to nearly 500 registered student organizations, including 52 fraternities and sororities, competitive intercollegiate athletics play a big role at FSU. The ten men's and 11 women's athletic teams are called the Seminoles, and they participate in the N.C.A.A. Division I and the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Florida State is considered 'more selective' in its admission process with a 59 percent acceptance rate. Typical incoming students have a grade point average of 3.6 and SAT test scores between 1,070 and 1,250.
