George Mason University is spread across three campuses in northern Virginia. The most popular undergraduate majors are communications, political science, psychology, accounting and nursing. George Mason University offers degree programs at the bachelors, masters and doctoral levels.

George Mason University is a public institution with campuses in the cities of Fairfax, Arlington and Manassas. The second largest postsecondary institution in Virginia, George Mason's business program and law school are highly regarded nationally, as are its degree programs in information technology, engineering, health care and biotechnology.

George Mason's primary Fairfax campus is situated in a suburban area of northern Virginia. Nearly 200 organizations provide plenty of recreational opportunities for students of diverse backgrounds and interests. Support for the Patriots athletic teams, which compete in the Colonial conference, is also very strong.

George Mason offers more than 100 bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs in more than a dozen schools and colleges. Students may also design their own interdisciplinary degrees under the supervision of faculty. Popular majors include communications, political science, psychology, accounting and nursing.

George Mason has an undergraduate student body of more than 18,000. Considered a 'selective' institution, the university has a freshman acceptance rate of 61 percent. Most incoming students have a grade point average of 3.4 and typically score in the 1010 to 1210 range on the SAT.
