Minnesota State University is located in Mankato, Minnesota approximately 80 miles southwest of Minneapolis. Some of the most popular undergraduate majors are business, management, marketing, education and health professions. Minnesota State University offers certificates in addition to bachelors and masters degree programs.

Minnesota State University, in urban Mankato, is located approximately 85 miles southwest of Minneapolis-St. Paul. The university sits on over 300 acres overlooking the Minnesota River Valley and is part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System.

MSU is nationally ranked as one of America's Best Colleges. The school's engineering program took special honors, ranking #65 in its category. MSU awards certificates, as well as associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees in nearly 250 programs.

Twenty percent of students major in business, management and marketing. Other popular majors include education, health professions, security and protective services, and social sciences.

Minnesota State has a 'selective' admission process, with an incoming freshman acceptance rate of 89 percent. The student-to-faculty ratio is 22:1 and approximately 90 percent of classes have fewer than 49 students. Typical incoming freshman submit ACT test scores between 20 and 24.
