Oregon State University is located about 35 miles south of Salem in Corvallis, Oregon. Oregon State University is located in Corvallis, a city of 50,000 in the northwest part of the state. It is the oldest postsecondary institution in the state and highly respected for its innovation in research. Oregon State features acclaimed academic programs in engineering, forestry, environmental sciences, business and the arts and sciences.

Oregon State's 400-acre campus is located in a suburban setting that offers a park-like atmosphere for study, recreation and relaxation. More than 300 organizations offer students opportunities to get involved on campus, as do countless cultural and social events occurring throughout the year. Student interest in the Oregon State athletic teams competing in the Pacific 10 Conference is also strong.

Oregon State has an undergraduate student body of nearly 16,000. It is a 'selective' school, with an overall acceptance rate of 92 percent. Incoming students have a grade point average of 3.5 and generally score in the 950 to 1200 range on the SAT and the 20 to 26 range on the ACT.
