The University of Virginia is located in Charlottesville, Virginia approximately 70 miles northwest of Richmond. The most popular majors at the school include psychology, business, economics, history and international relations. The University of Virginia offers bachelors, masters and doctoral level degree programs.

Founded by Thomas Jefferson, the University of Virginia is one of the most highly acclaimed public research universities in the nation. The university's #23 ranking in the America's Best Colleges report from U.S. News & World Report, makes it the second highest rated public institution on the list. Many of the university's programs annually rank among the top 20 of the nation, including those in business, architecture, law, English, physics and nursing.

The University of Virginia features a classical campus setting with architectural treasures and attractive green spaces. 'The Corner' on University Avenue is a hub of activity where students and faculty can be found mingling in the many shops, bookstores and sidewalk cafes.
