Wichita State University, the only metropolitan university in Kansas, is located on a modern and accessible 330-acre campus. In addition to its main campus in Wichita, satellite campuses are also located in Maize and Derby. WSU boasts the only comprehensive college of fine arts in Kansas.

Wichita State University is ranked among America's Best Colleges. The university awards certificates, as well as associate's, bachelor's and doctorate degrees. Students can choose from more than 60 undergraduate degree programs in more than 200 areas of study. The most popular majors are business, management and marketing, health professions, education, engineering and social sciences. Pre-professional programs are also offered in law and medicine.

Wichita State students participate in more than 100 student activities and registered organizations, such as honor societies, religious, minority and international organizations and fraternities and sororities.

Considered a 'selective' institution, Wichita State has a freshman acceptance rate of 85 percent. The student-to-faculty ratio is 17:1. Accepted students typically have a grade point average of 3.3 and ACT test scores of 20 to 25.
