Associate in Science in Radiologic Technology

Fresno City College's Health Sciences Division hosts a radiologic technology program that equips students with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to safely and effectively operate x-ray equipment in hospitals and other health care facilities. Aspiring radiologic technicians learn to perform examinations under the direction of a qualified medical doctor. Students undertake courses in radiation biology, pathology, fluoroscopy, positioning, quality assurance and nursing procedures; they must also complete clinical laboratory requirements. In addition to studying radiographic techniques, participants learn to evaluate x-ray images for quality, care for patients and protect individuals from radiation exposure.
