Kinetic energy can not be negative. The reason is given below.

If a mass {eq}m {/eq} has a velocity {eq}\vec v {/eq} then the kinetic energy of the object is given by $$\begin{align} K=\dfrac12mv^2 \end{align} $$

We can see that kinetic energy is a scalar quantity. Kinetic energy is related to mass and velocity. We know that mass can not be negative but since velocity is a vector quantity, it can be both positive and negative. But kinetic energy is related to the square of the velocity, therefore even if the velocity is negative then also the kinetic energy becomes positive. Therefore, kinetic energy will never be negative
