A. Embryo - in human pregnancy, the embryo is a period that occurs shortly after implantation. This is when the generation of human tissue begins.

B. Fetus - in humans, a fetus is the stage that occurs after the embryonic stage. In humans, this is generally defined as the 9th week after fertilization.

C. Amnio - in medicine, the term amnio is a shortened version of the word amniocentesis. This is a procedure used for prenatal screening in which amniotic fluid is obtained with a needle and sent for various tests.

D. Gametogenesis - is sexually reproducing animals, this is a process in which sex cells named gametes are generated via meiosis.

E. Embryonic membrane - this is typically referred to as the extraemryotic membranes. There are four which include the amnio, chorion, yolk and allantois.
