Blood clotting is a phenomenon in which the platelets in the blood aggregate and forms a clot at the site of injury. This prevents the loss of blood at the site of injury. The blood clots may also develop at some unwanted sites in the body without injury. This occurs due to the thickening of the blood. The blood clots formed at the blood vessels, heart, lungs, and brains can be harmful.
