Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
CO2 is the main by-product of cellular respiration. This is produced in the cell in two ways. The first being the CO2 released from pyruvate oxidation, as pyruvate is converted to acetyl CoA. The next being during the Krebs cycle, as the 6 carbon molecule is broken down further and further, 2 CO2 are lost in the reactions.
