Oceans are bodies of saline water that take about 70% of Earth's surface. They account for 97% of all water in the planet. Only 3% of the water in our planet is fresh water. The ocean has a great effect on the Earth's climate, since they transfer heat from the tropical zones to the poles thanks to the ocean currents. The ocean can reach depths of 11,000 meters.
