In A Wrinkle in Time, how does Mr. Murry help Meg on the journey back to Camazotz?

Mr. Murray has been imprisoned on Camazotz for years. Meg initially expected her father to solve all her problems and take care of everything. When he falls short of this overestimation, she is quite harsh on him.

Mr. Murray helps his daughter, Meg, on her journey back to Camazotz by telling her that he will be brave. Mr. Murray tells Meg, ''Don't be afraid to be afraid. We will try to have courage for you. That is all we can do.''
He had been begging the three ladies, Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which, to let him go. He had inadvertently been reinforcing all her doubts and insecurities. When he finally tells her he will have courage for her, it means that she does not need to worry about him and that he believes in her.
