Question:

Scientists have not been able to conclusively determine how life began on Earth; however, there are various hypotheses. Describe the most logical reasoning behind the origin of life on Earth.

RNA World Hypothesis:

The RNA World Hypothesis is the concept that ribonucleic acid (RNA) was the molecule that gave rise to the earliest forms of life. The concept was developed by several scientists, including Crick, Orgel and Woese in 1967, Rich in 1962, and Gilbert in 1986.

Answer and Explanation:

The RNA World Hypothesis is the most widely accepted explanation of how life on Earth originated. It is proposed that a primordial soup consisted of chemical elements existed and gave rise to the components of the RNA molecule, which then evolved to replicate and propelled the emergence of DNA and proteins. Because of its chemical instability, RNA was eventually displaced by DNA as the inheritance carrier except for some viruses.
