Question:

What are the disadvantages of adding indexes to a database table?

Database:

The database is a way to store the data in a tabular form so we can access it easily. For making a database we use some tools like SQL, MYSQL, MS-ACCESS, ORACLE, etc. They are using their own languages to manipulate the data.

Answer and Explanation: 1

The indexing is to add one more unique column with respect to the columns.

The disadvantage of the Indexing is:

. It takes more space on the disk.

. It reduces the performance of the DELETE, Inserts, Updates because At the execution of the query the index will also be updated, inserted,

deleted and it takes a time.

. Some database tools have rules for making this like if the indexes are really much needed then only it is created.
