Keats met the love of his life Fanny Brawne while caring for his sick brother in 1818. In 1819 they were able to enter a serious relationship after becoming neighbors. This time period, whether by coincidence or not is when Keats produced his best work while falling in love with Fanny. He broke things off with her to focus on becoming a serious writer and take care of his health. Brawne did not find out about his death until sometime after and was in mourning for six years before moving on.
