What is a dependent variable?
In a scientific experiment, a variable is any of the conditions that could change, or vary, during the course of an experiment. When you set up an experiment, you need to keep all of the variables identical, except for the one being tested, called the independent variable. This means everything else in the experiment must be exactly the same. This helps improve confidence in the results of your experiment.
