Electric current can be defined as the average flow of electrons over an area of cross-section of the conductor. Electric current has a specific direction. Electrical current always flows from the positive terminal to the negative terminal of the battery.

Electromagnetism can be defined as the magnetic effect of electric current. As when an electric current passes through any conductor, there will be a magnetic field that is generated around the conductor. This magnetic field is due to electromagnetism.
Explanation with example
The most common example is the doorbell.
When the doorbell is turned on, the current passes through the conductor, and hence by electromagnetism, there is a magnetic field generated around the conductor. This magnetic field attracts the clapper, and this clapper hits the bell.
