What is Mount Vesuvius?

What is Mount Vesuvius?

Italy is a country located in Southern Europe. It was once the center of the Roman Empire, and many ancient Roman and Greek ruins can be found throughout the country. One of these is the parthenon.

Answer and Explanation:

Mount Vesuvius is a volcano. It is located in the Southern Italian region of Campania, near the city of Naples. In 79 AD, the volcano erupted and covered the Roman city of Pompeii with ash. This preserved much of the buildings and artwork in the city, and Pompeii is now a major tourist attraction and archaeological site.

Vesuvius is still an active volcano.
