On the Ides of March, 44 BC, a group of senators assassinated '~dictator for life'' Julius Caesar. Immediately following the assassination, panic set in. Many people would flee, including the conspirators. By the next day, order had been restored; however, who would rule in place of Caesar became a concern when his will named his 18-year-old grand-nephew as his successor.
