Violent Deaths of the Pizarro Brothers
When Francisco Pizarro colonized Peru, he was accompanied by his brothers Gonzalo, Juan and Hernando. Francisco was assassinated, Gonzalo was executed and Juan was mortally wounded.
Answer and Explanation:
Gonzalo had three goals: the colonization of Peru, the exploration of the Andes and the Amazon River, and the preservation of his privileges as a conquistador. He assisted in the colonization and the exploration. However, he was overshadowed by the accomplishments of Francisco Pizarro and Francisco de Orellana. He rose in rebellion against the King of Spain to continue the enslavement and exploitation of Native Americans. He was defeated and beheaded.
