Question:

What would be the effects of increasing the air flow rate across the evaporator coil for an air conditioning system operating in cooling mode.

Air-conditioning

Air-conditioning is controlling the humidity, temperature, and dust level of the environment. It uses a refrigeration system to do the processes to control the properties of air within the comfort zones of humans as per ASHRAE standards.

Answer and Explanation:

When you increase air flow to evaporator coil, the rate at which it will absorb heat will increase. Due to high flow rate, the heat transfer efficiency at the coils will deteriorate.

Cooling demand will also increase as well. But since refrigerant is at a fixed volume inside the system, this will adjust requirements at each component of the air-conditioner.
