When was the French and Indian War started?

Question:

When was the French and Indian War started?

Seven Years War:

The French and Indian War was also known as the Seven Years War. The war was fought between the British and the French over colonial territory in what would become the United States.

Answer and Explanation:

The French and Indian War was a conflict between the British and French that was officially declared by the British in 1756. In Europe, this conflict was referred to as the Seven Years War and was also the beginning of the Second Hundred Years War between the French and British. The conflict got its 'French and Indian War' distinction because the French had formed much better alliances with the Native Americans than the British had. Fortunately for the British, several key battles earned them a victory in the war.
