Endocrine and Lymphatic Systems:

The endocrine system is one of two control systems in the body. The system releases chemicals, which are called hormones, into the blood. Hormones then travel around the body until reaching cells, which have receptors for them. The nervous system is the other control system of the body, but is faster acting than the endocrine system. The lymphatic system has a number of important functions in the body. It helps to remove interstitial fluid which is not picked up by the blood capillaries, transports some fats from the digestive system to the blood, and participates in the immune response.
