Who are the characters in Wuthering Heights?
There are several characters in Wuthering Heights who play a minor role in the story. Mr. and Mrs. Earnshaw and Mr. and Mrs. Linton play small parts in the story but are the parents to the main characters. Another is Joseph, the lifelong and religiously fervent farmhand and servant of the Earnshaws. Another is Frances Earnshaw, the short-lived wife of Hindley Earnshaw and the mother of Hareton. Zillah plays a small role as the housekeeper at Wuthering Heights after Nelly's departure. Mr. Lockwood bookends the story as an outside narrator and tenant of Heathcliff's at Thrushcross Grange after the death of Edgar Linton.
