Accuplacer ESL Reading Skills Preparation & Registration
By using our study guide, you'll review important skills that will be tested on the Accuplacer ESL Reading Skills exam. In addition to review, you might also come across a few new topics in the fun video lessons to add to your knowledge base. You'll learn about reading strategies like close reading, visualization and big picture reading. You can also practice using context clues, summarizing, drawing conclusions and understanding tone and mood. Additionally, methods for analyzing both fiction and nonfiction passages are included. At the end of each lesson, you can assess your progress by taking the short multiple-choice quizzes, which also offer practice in the same testing format you'll see on exam day.
You can usually sign up to take the test through your college's advising or counseling office. Stop by if you're in the area, or contact them by phone or e-mail. If your school is in another state, they might still be able to accommodate your testing needs locally. Make sure that you take a picture ID on test day, along with any other materials required by your school's testing center.
