About This Course
Using this course, you will have the opportunity to review details about the human body and its functions as well as environmental systems. This material is comparable to 12th grade biology topics you would cover in class. You will find lessons devoted to the nervous, endocrine and reproductive systems. Other lessons discuss genes and genetics, human development, DNA sequencing and ecosystems. About the Exam
The Alberta Education Diploma program was established in 1984 and is used to determine the level of achievement for 12th grade students in specific courses and to certify that standards are being met. The Biology 30 exam covers one of eight subjects used in this program. The test is administered in January and April and is entirely paper-based. Students must achieve 50% or higher to meet an acceptable standard level for this exam.
Alberta Education Diploma Biology 30 Exam Preparation & Registration
This comprehensive course addresses all of the material you would expect to find on the Alberta Education Diploma Biology 30 exam. You will have the opportunity to study neurons, cells, parts of the nervous system, the senses, endocrine organs and glands, and male and female reproductive organs and functions. Lessons also provide review of embryonic and neonatal development, mitosis and meiosis, genomes, chromosomes, genotypes and phenotypes, DNA and RNA, and genetic inheritance and variability. Finally, you will go over topics relating to the human population and the environment. You can conveniently access lessons at all times, on any device, and also print transcripts to create handy reference tools. Expert instructors guide you through the material using simple language and helpful examples and illustrations. You can also gauge how much you have retained by taking self-assessment quizzes at the end of each lesson.
All 12th-grade students taking courses in the subject for which they are seeking an Alberta Education Diploma are eligible to take these exams. They must complete and submit a Diploma Exam Registration/Rewrite Form which can be accessed on the Alberta Education website by clicking on the Forms link. There is no fee for students taking an exam for the first time; an administration fee does apply for those taking the exam a second time.
The Alberta Education Diploma Mathematics 30-1 exam is administered by Alberta Education, The Crown in Right of Alberta as represented by the Minister of Education, which is not affiliated with Study.com.
