About the ACT Compass Reading Test
The ACT Compass Reading test is most often administered by higher education institutions to new enrollees. Instead of being an admissions test, this test is used largely to assess the skill levels of already accepted students in order to determine the best and most appropriate course placements. In addition to having a placement purpose, this exam also may be a requirement prior to taking a certain college course. This test has a computer-adaptive format and is not timed.
ACT Compass Reading Registration and Preparation
Students are encouraged to consult with an academic advisor or student services representative at their school to find out institution-specific information regarding administration of the exam as well as requirements. Institutions have the responsibility of test ordering to become a Compass site.
After you have finished going over the text and video lessons, you can evaluate your content knowledge by trying some quizzes. Monitor your progress through our course in order to determine how much more review of the material is appropriate or needed.
ACT Compass Reading Scoring and Score Reports
Scores for the ACT Compass Reading test are available immediately following exam completion. Test takers receive a hard copy of the results and the institution receives students' scores as well. Scores are used for the purpose of determining strengths and weaknesses for the development of a smart and effective education plan.
